.
With a great showing of club members
(hint, hint) we were able to get quite a bit covered and amazingly little
resistance from the club members in general (i.e. only 2 showed up.). We were missing one board member Dennis
but had a majority of the board to vote and pass the
following:
Members present: Bret &
Mike
Directors:
Josh, Kylan, Brian
Board:
Jason, Justin, Rick
The Directors (P,VP,T) will look
into some club bi-laws and present the membership and board with a draft of the
"Magic City RC Racers" bi-laws - we looked at "http://www.rcccs.com/main/" -
click the bi-laws link to review an example of what we will be
presenting.
Voted and Passed
items:
We will be joining ROAR - there is a $35 fee for the club and that is all. We will look into hosting a ROAR event, probably something small to get our feet wet.
After the last race of the month we will have a club meeting at the
track
We are making up the 2 missed race days over the next 4 Sundays. This means we will have racing May 25th (Make up), June 1st, June 8th (Make up) & June 15th
Justin, Mike, Josh and Kylan will present a proposal for new On-road barriers - budget is $1000 for the new boards/barriers and they must present a solution to the club by Aug 1st 2003
Kylan will attempt to procure a piece of the RoadRails/Domes product.
The Club will pay Extreme Hobbies $100 per Month for use of the Off-road track and cover the cost of the toilet. Remaining race entry fees will go to the club and possibly to Extreme
Rocky Mountain Motors (Jason) Has donated a Cooler and Soda to be sold during race day. Honor system for paying, The club will also purchase snack bags for sale as well. All proceeds from snack sales and sodas go to club.
Jason and Justin will look for a gas
Bar-b-q to keep at the track for events
We will spend the $50 for the addition of the Database to AutoScore - this will speed up registration for on and off road and simplify getting a race going.
Alcohol is allowed at the track but please refrain from partaking until the races are over. We do not want to scare away parents with children and would like to keep a positive image of the club.
There was much discussion on ROAR
and how/if it will benefit the club.
The discussion was positive and not one sided. Some of the key points - $35 for the
Club and we have our name in every ROAR publication. A regional event will require at least 6
ROAR members and will be very labor intensive. Wyoming and Canadian racers would need
to get permission from their Regional Director to race in a regional if held in
Billings. $15 single event ROAR
membership vs. $30 Yearly membership would
be required to race at a ROAR sanctioned event. In terms of $$'s that is a set of
graphite arms or a new stock motor.
Please read up on membership benefits at http://www.roarracing.com/
Please give your input at the next
meeting - May 25th after the race.
If you paid for racing on May 4th you do not have to pay this
Sunday. Please spread the word
about racing for the next 4 weeks.
